The Arts ARTS COUNCIL - WINDSOR & REGION Description:
The Council strives to actively encourage artistic and cultural
endeavors
in the area. It aims to increase appreciation of artists and
arts organizations, disseminate news of artistic events, achieve greater
community awareness of its own artistic resources, initiate public
participation in the field of artistic affairs and develop a closer
relationship between artists and consumers of art and maintain an open
atmosphere of acceptance for new and emerging art forms. The Council
produces and distributes a regular bi-monthly calendar of events and a
newsletter, offers workshops on various subjects and publishes
directories of people and places in the arts and pertinent publications
on the arts. The Council advocates on behalf of the arts at all levels
of government. Description:
Live theatre offering adult and children shows. Centre has 2 stages -
the Pentastar Playhouse with a seating capacity for 700 and the Daniel
Patrick Kelly Theatre with a seating capacity for 235. Stages available
for rent. A single floor licensed multi-purpose room, the Joy Family
Theatre, has a seating capacity for 130 with a portable stage, bar and
