BIG BROTHERS & BIG SISTERS OF WINDSOR-ESSEX COUNTY

Description: The program is designed to run between five to seven months. This program provides a unique opportunity to provide adult male role models to children so they may experience positive peer interaction and establish friendships while in a group setting. The group would potentially consist of nine boys assigned to 3 Big Brothers. Outings would occur once every two weeks, for 2-4 hrs in duration with the support of the staff. The Big Brothers in the group would design and organize activities, supervise and oversee the function of the group and interact with the boys to increase their social, physical and emotional skills.



ONTARIO EARLY YEARS CENTRES (Amherstburg Site)

Description: Ontario Early Years Centres are places where parents and caregivers can: take part with their children in a range of programs and activities; get answers to questions; get information about programs and services that are available for young children; and talk to early years professionals, as well as other parents and caregivers in the community.



SALVATION ARMY WINDSOR COMMUNITY AND REHABILITATION CENTRE (Children’s Programming)

Description: The program offers an 8 week off site summer day camp. Supervised activities enrich and help develop responsible youths. A one week residential camp located at Glenheron near Bayfield, ON is also offered.



WEE WATCH (Private Home Day Care)

Description: Private, licensed in-home child care program provides comprehensive, individualized and emergency child care for those requiring full or part time and shift care. All care providers are screened, trained and include a monthly report to parents to reassure them of the highest level of care is being met. The program fosters development, social, creative,  sensory and motor skills through a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. Nutritious meals and snacks, in  consultation with the parent, are provided.



WINDSOR-ESSEX COUNTY CHILDREN'S AID SOCIETY

WINDSOR SOCIAL SERVICES (Amherstburg Child Care Centre)

Description: Full and half day programs and integrated program for children with special needs. Referral required.



WINDSOR. SOCIAL SERVICES (Children’s Services Division, Preschool Pipeline – Leamington)

Description: The Preschool Pipeline Offices assist parents to meet their responsibility to choose the most appropriate child care arrangements from the various child care options available. The offices also oversee the provision of child care subsidies in both the city-operated and purchase-of-service child care facilities situated throughout the City of Windsor and the County of Essex. Financial assistance is also provided for parent-regulated, informal child care arrangements to sole support parents, and to purchase transportation services to help remove barriers to accessing child care.



WINDSOR REGIONAL CHILDREN'S CENTRE

Description: Counselling program for children/youth, parents and families experiencing emotional, behavioural and social problems. Individual, parental, family therapy or group sessions are available.  The centre conducts on-site psychological and psychiatric assessments.
