Description: CAVEAT is an impartial non-profit organization which provides information, support and education to ensure that victims and their families are treated with respect and afforded rights at least equal to those of the accused. Organization advocates changes to justice system which gives victims a role in the justice process and ensures public confidence in the judicial system. Education services focuses on raising awareness of the issues of violence and crime prevention through publications, public speaking presentations, forums and displays.

Description: Information Windsor is an information and referral centre providing accurate, up-to-date information on government programs and services, local social service and non-profit organizations. Free, confidential service by telephone or personal interview is available. Publications include Directory of Community Services (Blue Book), Self Help/Mutual Aid Groups, plus other directories and a variety of resource lists. Specialized database searches and mailing lists are available upon request. The office provides on-site, online access to its over 3,700-record database. Research and production of customized publications on a contract basis. The centre provides social reporting data to appropriate agencies.



MEMORIAL SOCIETY OF WINDSOR AND DISTRICT

Description: This non-profit, non-denominational organization provides information to people interested in arranging simple, dignified funerals for themselves or their loved ones. The group promotes pre-planning of final arrangements, encourages simple, dignified and low cost funerals and encourages organ and whole body donation. Documents are provided to members for recording their preferences as guidance for their families and executors. The society does not sell funeral or burial plots. The Society provides information about donating one’s body to a medical facility for research purposes.
