Description:
The Relay Service operator is available to assist in placing or
receiving calls to/from persons who use a TTY/Teletypewriter. Other
services include VCO (voice carry over), HCO (hearing carry over) and
reference of calls for the deaf. Description:

registered nurses, registered practical nurses, personal support and
home support workers to hospitals, institutions and private homes. It
also offers nursing care, foot care and palliative care services. VON
Description:
National non-profit health organization offering appropriate in-home
care. Services include visiting nursing, foot care, senior citizen
health counselling, prenatal health education, post-partum infant
parenting, private duty nursing, continence advisory program. http://www.windsorcommunityliving.com Description: The program is available to individuals with developmental disabilities requiring minimal support. Support is provided within an apartment or shared accommodation on a 24 hour basis. The level of support depends on the person’s strengths and centers on advocacy and monitoring of their well-being. The office serves as a drop-in centre for individuals receiving support through the program and allows them to come in for coffee, chat with friends and check the bulletin board for job postings and other notices.WINDSOR-ESSEX COMMUNITY CARE ACCESS CENTRE (CCAC) Description:
Health care coordination service -- coordinates a wide range of in-home
services to eligible clients including case management, nursing,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, personal support,
nutritional counselling, speech language pathology and medical supplies
and equipment. CCAC provides placement in long-term care facilities,
home and school health, services for children with special needs,
oncology program for terminally ill, assessments for government funded
day away programs and supportive housing services. Case Managers
determine eligibility for drug coverage under the Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB)

Materials include large print books, audio cassettes and talking books for those with visual or physical disability. The service provides a cheer-up box filled with an individually-selected assortment of library materials for the shut-in child. |
