Mental Counselling Health Services AIDS COMMITTEE OF WINDSOR (Outreach Services) Description: The aids committee of Windsor provides support and education for services for people at risk of, living with, or affected by HIV/AIDS in Essex and Kent counties.BULIMIA ANOREXIA NERVOSA ASSOCIATION Description:
The Association provides information, referral and treatment regarding
eating disorders for individuals, their families and friends,
professionals and all concerned people. A reference library, speakers’
bureau, seminars and workshops, education, and research are available.
An information line is also available for individuals and organizations. Description:
Community support workers provide ongoing, individualized, 1-on-1
support to persons with serious and persistent mental illness. Support
is provided through continuum of case management functions including
assessment, linkage to resources, person-centred planning; counselling,
skill development, symptom management, advocacy, family support and
public education. Service is available throughout Essex County with
satellite offices in Leamington and Essex. FORMERLY: CANADIAN ABORTION RIGHTS ACTION LEAGUE Description: A non-profit charitable organization dedicated to ensuring reproductive choice for all Canadians through education, research, training and public policy.DIRECT (Depression Information Resource & Education Centre) Description: The Centre provides information, education and research on mental health issues for the whole of Ontario. It offers a variety tools designed to assist patients and clinicians in accurate, early diagnosis and effective treatment. DRUG AND ALCOHOL REGISTRY OF TREATMENT, THE Description: A bilingual telephone service providing information and referral to drug and alcohol treatment programs within the province of Ontario. Provides data and statistics about substance abuse for research purposes. The gambling help line provides a single point of contact for all inquiries about gambling treatment resources in Ontario. GAMBLERS ANONYMOUS http://www.gamblersanonymous.org Description:
A 12-step program designed to help those who want to stop gambling. The
program works in conjunction with the Gamanon group located in Detroit
for family and friends. Open meetings are available to spouses and
family members to discuss coping skills/methods. Description:
The MS Society's mission is to be a leader in finding a cure for
multiple sclerosis and enabling people affected by MS to enhance their

This is a multicultural therapy program for women, men and teens who are
self abusive and are motivated to stop. The program lasts 10 weeks,
members are encouraged to take more than one. Members must attend all
the therapy meetings. Individuals must go to London, Ontario for this
program. Speaking engagements can be arranged throughout Canada. The
fostering hope workshop trains professionals. Our educational
consultants can be arranged for workshops throughout. Description:
The Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada is a
national voluntary organization dedicated to improving the quality of
life for those with or affected by Tourette Syndrome through programs of
education, advocacy, self-help and the promotion of research. http://web2.uwindsor.ca/psych_centre Description: Psychological Services provides personal counselling and crisis intervention for University of Windsor students, faculty and staff. The Centre also provides an internship and practicum setting for graduate students of the Psychology program.WINDSOR-ESSEX COMMUNITY CARE ACCESS CENTRE (CCAC) Description:
Health care coordination service -- coordinates a wide range of in-home
services to eligible clients including case management, nursing,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, personal support,
nutritional counselling, speech language pathology and medical supplies
and equipment. CCAC provides placement in long-term care facilities,
home and school health, services for children with special needs,
oncology program for terminally ill, assessments for government funded
day away programs and supportive housing services. Case Managers
determine eligibility for drug coverage under the Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB)
