Teen Health Centre

The Amherstburg Community Services office hosts a Teen Health Nurse and a Teen Health Counsellor every Monday afternoon from 2:30pm to 6:00pm.


Nurse

This free, confidential service is available to young people aged 12 - 24 years. The Teen Health Centre staff can provide the latest information about medical and emotional concerns. Clients are encouraged to ask questions, many of which can be answered over the phone when you call. Clients come in for health exams, information on birth control and abstinence, depression and anxiety assessment, eating disorders, skin care, sports injuries and nutrition as well as other young adult concerns. Bring your health card with you when you come for an appointment. It is recommended to make an appointment with her first by calling (519) 253-8481.


Counsellor

This free, confidential counselling service is available to young people aged 12 - 24 years. The counsellors are experienced in teen and family conflict. Through mutual trust and respect, the teen and counsellor can openly discuss issues and find resolutions. Teens can request counselling for themselves or may be referred by their parents. Counsellors can help young people deal with family relationships, depression, eating disorders and other teen concerns.
