partners. Ontario Labor Relations Board Description: Board is a neutral, quasi-judicial tribunal which administers the Ontario Labor Relations Act. The Act gives the Board power to deal with specific labor relations matters, including: certification of a trade union, termination of a trade union’s bargaining rights, complaints of unfair labor practices, first contract arbitration, declarations of successor ship of employers or trade unions, cease and desist orders and declarations of illegal strikes and lockouts, trusteeship of local of trade unions, consent to prosecute, arbitration of grievances in the construction industry and trade union jurisdictional disputes.MINISTRY OF LABOR (Office of the Employer Adviser, Ontario) Description:
The office provides information to employers on general Workplace Safety
and Insurance Board policy and procedures, including claims review,
rehabilitation, etc. The office also provides interpretation of
Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, assists employers with appeals and
offers advice on assessment, re-classification, collection issues and
training seminars. Description:
The Office of the Worker Adviser is an Ontario government service
designed to assist non-unionized injured workers and their survivors with
workplace insurance problems. Description: The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) oversees Ontario's workplace safety education and training system, provides disability benefits, monitors the quality of health care, and assists in early and safe return to work. |
