What is Meals on Wheels?
Meals on Wheels is designed to help preserve the independence adults who may otherwise find themselves in the custodial care of someone else. At ACS, we strive to provide delicious, healthy meals to those who need it. In addition, all meals are delivered by a network of over 100 friendly volunteers.
How does Meals on Wheels work?
The program provides a meal delivered to your door at the noon hour up to five times a week. You have the freedom to choose which days of the week you receive meals. If you need a meal on Saturday, Sunday or any holiday, we will deliver frozen meals on the week day prior to the requested day. When you register for this service, our coordinator will note all dietary restrictions to ensure every meal is safe and enjoyable.
Each meal generally consists of soup, a hot main dish, a side serving, bread, and a dessert. The meals are cooked salt free and everything is baked or broiled rather than fried. We deliver to residents of Amherstburg, Harrow, LaSalle, and McGregor. Each meal only $6.50 and can be paid for by either cash or cheque monthly.

Meals for Mom
Life as a new mom can be challenging. The constant cleaning, running around, and always keeping an eye on your baby can make caring for yourself a challenge. That’s why we now offer the Meals for Mom program.
Meals for Mom provides fresh, healthy meals to mothers-to-be and new moms living in Amherstburg, LaSalle, Harrow and McGregor. The program uses the same procedures and policies as Meals on Wheels. Frozen meals can be provided for the weekend at your request, and moms can choose which days they would like their meals to be delivered.
As a result, Meals for Mom provides a simple, cost effective solution to parents seeking that extra bit of help.
